The end of a 2 year learning experience in Shatec, is OVER!

The feeling seems so weird.

No more routine wake up's at 7 or 8am, no more lunch at the coffee shop and no more taking the bus and walking pass the swimming pool. Seems kind of awkward if you ask me.

Though the past 2 years have not gone to waste. Learnt alot about the industry, obviously, and got to meet some life long friends. It was a journey, not only will i remember for the rest of my life, but a journey that will be cherished deep within my heart.

I'm sure i'm not the only one with the same thoughts. I'm sure many people, who have learnt life long skills from Shatec, will be cherishing these 2 years.

It still seems like yesterday, when we just finished out housekeeping project. Oh man, i still remember the feeling of receiving the highest grade for that project. It was just wonderful. To have achieve something academically, for the first time in my life.

And on top of that, i would say that our Sales project was one of the greatest projects we compiled. I loved the look and the content. Just amazing what a great team can do.

*Too bad we will never work as a whole on projects again. To: Liang Liang, Alan, Xiumin, Amanda and Susanna, THX for all the work and efforts put in over the past 2 years. We did a great job. Though some may have had minor conflicts, that they did not voice, we still got through it all and you didn't allow it to effect our work. I believe out of the whole class, we were the best project group! To, uh, OASIS! haha!*

It's just saddening to know that we may (as a class) never be able to see each other again, or atleast as a whole.

DHM0405A, I wish you all the best for your future endeavour. Don't let the hotel punks push you around, stand your ground if you need to. Take care and I wish you all the best! Make sure to remember me if you strike it rich, haha jks!

Crunch TIME!!

This is gonna be a short post...


just a little update on what's going on now.

This is of cousre, Exam Week.

Everyone's stressing about the papers and in the back of everybody's minds are holidays.

I've completed 3 out of 4 papers already.

1) Business Communication
2) Business Statistics
3) Food Production Management (which was today)

the next will be the worst paper of all, Principles of Management, which is tomorrow.

Can't wait til the end of that paper...it's gonna be like breaking out of hell.

Tmr will mark the end of my 2 year in-school learning at Shatec. After i will be headed out to Raffles Hotel for my 3 month attachment, then go back to school for a higher diploma and then go back and complete 6 months of attachment at the same hotel.

Seems like a well thought out plan eh? haha!

OH OH OH...

did i mention, i will be going to Bintan (in Indonesia) on April 2 2007?

haha..my last holiday, atleast for now!

Can't wait, it's gonna be so fun and relaxing! just what my friends and i need.

The trip will consist of Elliott, Alan, Xiumin, Amy, Susanna, Cao Yan and I. I just can't wait til the day i board the ferry, and set my stubby feet in some fucking sand!

muhahahaha! i know i know...it's okay to be jealous, FOOLS! hahaha! jokes jokes!

After a bit of studying today at Woodlands Library, Liang and I went to watch...

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!!!!!!

w00t!

This movie has very sentimental value to me. It didn't matter much if the script sucked or if the animations were bad, all that mattered to me was that i was able to watch 4 turtle on the big screen once again.

Teenage mutant ninja turtles, was part of my childhood. Growing up as a single child and a broken family, this show that started off as a cartoon, was my fantasy world. I use to be in this world that no one could take a way from me. It helped me get past the depression and ugliness of this horrible world.

I remember as a child i would always rush home to catch the 3:30pm show. If i missed it, the whole day would have gone to shreds. This cartoon, to many, may be stupid or idiotic, but to me this simple show was my life.

My dad, til this day, still calls me turtle in cantonese. He knows that this was and still is my favorite show of all time. He knew, buying me anyting with a ninja turtle on it would shut me up and entertain me for hours. Though my collection is still back home in toronto, i can still remember the faint memories of myself playing with turtle figurines alone in my room til the wee hours of the night.

I know it seems weird to be reading this, but if you grew up in the environment i did, you may understand what i mean. Being able to see Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo, Donnatello and Splinter on the big screen once again, made me remember my past. This is something i cherish. Something that can never be taken away from me. This is what made me forget about everything. It was my life.

After so many years, to be able to watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles once again, literally brought watery tears to my eyes. I was so HAPPY throughout the whole movie. The script was not the best, but it was memories that flashed in my head that made it all worth the wild. (The animations were great, but the voices could have been better) Smiling throughout the movie, Liang knew that this movie had a lot of value to me.

I am glad that they made a re-release. If not, who knows when i would be able to enjoy a flick to such an extent. Also, if i'm not wrong, there will be a second part to this movie. WOOHOO!!! =)

I have the 3 series' to the orginal tmnt movie. I fel like going to watch all of them once again! Maybe i will.

Thx hollywood, animators and script writers, for bringing back a memory to a grown man that lacked a real childhood. This cartoon means so much more to me now then it did when i first laid eyes on the cartoon series.

and to liang...THANK YOU SO MUCH for watching this movie with me. You may not have enjoyed it as much as i did or maybe you did, but i really appreciated it. If you didn't watch this movie with me, i would have watched it myself. Liang, i know you know how much this movie meant to me, and i really really thank you (again) for spending the time with me to enjoy it. LOVE YOU!

TMNT, is something that will always be treasured deep within me and my heart!

SEA and more

went to an event on friday night.

It was the inaugural Singapore Education Awards (SEA).

I went to represent the Overseas' Student Association (OSA)

I had to deal with guests asking and inquiring about OSA. I got to meet the Minster of State - Mr. S. Iswaran.

Friendly gentleman, but he asks too many question at one time. Hence, it was difficult to anaswer him all at once.

The GOOD thing was that Channel News Asia was there. Maybe y'all got to catch a glimpse of me? haha

It was a good night in all..free flow alcohol and food. Furthermore, i got to meet a Marketing Director of Mount Faber Holdings.

The Director asked alot of question about logistics and what nots, besides that, she asked what i was doing. After talking to her for about 15min, she said that she is very interested to sign me on board. She said to look for her after i finish, and maybe we could discuss my future career in Mount Faber Holdings.

Let's hope after a year or so that she will remember me. I know i won't forget her, cuz she was HOT haha!

Today i went to the library with Liang, Elliott, Jude and Aisah. Our main objective was to study, but at the end, that didn't really happen lol.

Around 5:30 we were gonna go purchase tix to TMNT, but who would of figured it was sold out! GOD DAMMIT! i was quite upset.

anyhoo...Liang, elliott and I headed to KTV hehe! it was GREAT!

now, they are at my house chilling and watching tv. so i best get going..

Finally, it's all over!

After 2 weeks of sleepless nights and stress, we @ DHM0405 A&B have come to the end of our work development week.

the breakdown:

1) conduct a workshop in 4 days (our topic: attitude)
2) produce a business plan in 5 days (subjct; Yuk Yuk Comedy Club)

Learning to work with a diverse group has taught me alot character and culture.

it was a great learning experience.

I will take these 2 weeks of thoughts, learnings and memories with me wherever i go. It will defiantely be helpful when i go out to the industry for my attachment!

Now that everything seems to be over, we still have exams! argh..

Next week, will end the mark of our 2 years in Shatec. It seems like everything is moving so fast. memories and friends will disperse in to their respective hotels and who knows how many will meet up to get togther on a frequent basis.

However...

In july, i will be back in school to pursue a Higher Diploma in Tourism Management. It is a 6 month course to further prepare me in the industry. I believe besides learning alot, i will have an opportunity to meet and interact with new faces.

I hope it will be a great 6 months.

It's been awhile.

Went for my Raffles interview on tuesday afternoon. It went very well.

I will be going down next week to sign the contract. YippIE!! so happy! not because i'm going to a well distinguished establishment, but because now i don't have to stress over where i'm gonna be going. The stress levels were sky rocketing and i swear, i wanted to break down!

but now it's all over and i'm super duper happy! =)

Anyhoo, saturday was the day we celebrated Liang's b-day. We went over to Alan's place for a BBQ. oh man, was it ever delicious.

Kind of made it a bit like an american bbq. We used different flavored marinades and all. just wonderful.

She seemed quite happy. I hope she liked the gift i got her.

I don't know how or why, but again, with different group members, i was elected team leader. ARGH! i thought i could relax a bit! I had to sacrific my time to stay home and complete the editing and all for our report, meaning, i couldn't go clubbing with Alan lastnight!

Raffles Hotel

Finally, i got a another interview coming this tuesday.

I will be going down to Raffles Hotel Singapore. I'm quite excited but i don't want to get my hopes up. I need to relax and just think positive.

Raffles hotel is quite a distinguished establishment, so i will be lucky if i can get the post of a trainee in the organization.

I'm off to sleep, then KTV tonight. This is a long awaited weekend! All projects have come to an end and, i'm left with 1 individual assignment due next week.
